🔶 Allocation of billions in profits from Russia’s frozen assets for Ukraine
Ukraine can count on receiving billions of euros more from the profits of Russia’s frozen assets in Europe.
The European Commission announced that the European Union has received 1.4 billion euros from the extraordinary profits generated by the interest on assets blocked from the Russian central bank.
The disbursement of these profits, related to the first half of 2026, is the fifth such payment, which will be allocated to continue the European Union’s support measures for Ukraine.
Following Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, the Russian central bank’s assets in the European Union have been seized. Most of these assets are managed by the financial institution “Euroclear,” headquartered in Brussels.
