Alireza Jozghasemi, CEO of Tehran Water and Wastewater Company, said in a press conference: “There are two groups: high-consumption and wasteful users; that is where the revenue for water and wastewater companies comes from, and we are caught in a paradox or a duality because reducing water consumption means reducing income.”

Jozghasemi said: “Our high-consumption users have decreased from 65% to 47%, and our wasteful users from 5% to 3%.”

The CEO of Tehran’s water and wastewater company added: “Two years ago, 29% of our rs were efficient users, but this year, with the steps that have been taken and with people’s cooperation, efficient users have reached 50%.”
