Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said in an interview with ISNA that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and that the Islamic Republic “will under no circumstances back down on it.”

He also said that none of the members opposed the bill related to the management of the Strait of Hormuz, describing this as “an unprecedented event in the history of the Parliament.”

Nikzad added that all the members supported the bill on the management of the Strait of Hormuz and called this consensus rare.

The Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also said that the Islamic Republic views the Strait of Hormuz as “one of the achievements of the recent war and from the hidden mercies of God.” He said: “The Strait of Hormuz is from the hidden mercies of God that have been granted to us.”
