🔸Abdolhamid: Advocacy will continue until the people’s demands are met

Mawlavi Abdolhamid, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, said in Friday prayers on Friday, 8 Aban (30 October) that as long as officials do not respond positively to the people’s demands, advocacy and raising these demands will continue.

Referring to the 1979 Revolution, he said people did not rise up for a specific person; rather, they wanted freedom, justice, an end to discrimination, and handing the country’s affairs over to qualified individuals. According to him, the failure to realize these goals has led to dissatisfaction and the renewed start of protests.

Abdolhamid emphasized that peace in society and public satisfaction are possible only by hearing the people’s voice and addressing their demands. He called for fighting financial corruption, using assets and public resources for the benefit of the people, and improving the economic situation. He asked why people in a country endowed with abundant resources and potential must be hungry and under pressure from daily life.

The Sunni Friday prayer leader of Zahedan also said stopping executions and forced confessions are among the demands of the majority of people. He called forced confession-taking contrary to Islamic sharia and said that current executions also have no place in religion.
