🔻Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reacted to remarks by Andy Burnham, the prime minister of Britain, about Iran’s involvement in the Fordford incident, and wrote on the X network: “The prime minister said British government can confirm that it believes Iran had a role in the incident at the Royal Air Force base at Fordford.”
Mr. Araghchi added: “I can also confirm that, from Iran’s point of view, releasing people who are said to be terrorists affiliated with foreign governments says it all. You are looking for the culprit in the wrong place.”
On Wednesday, and one day after British police confirmed that, apart from some fuel, no explosive material was found in three van vehicles near the RAF Fordford base, Mr. Burnham said: “There are strong indications that Iran played a role in what happened at the Royal Air Force base at Fordford over the weekend; of course, the police investigation is still complex and serious and we are working closely with the United States of America.”
The five people who were arrested in connection with this matter and then released on bail are British, live in London, and are between 23 and 25 years old. 📷EPA
