🔻Yemen’s government says 100 children were killed in the recent war

The legal Yemeni government’s representative to the United Nations says that in the past month, amid the “continued escalation of fighting” in the country, at least 100 children have lost their lives.

Abdullah Ali Fadhel Al-Saadi, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, accused the Houthis of “destroying all peace initiatives,” targeting civilian areas such as schools and markets, and causing the displacement of more than 200,000 people.

Al-Saadi said that the “death government recorded more than 100 children in just the month of September,” adding that Houthi militants “continue to recruit children and send them to the front lines of the fighting.”

He also condemned the Houthis’ recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the deaths of three people.

He said: “These crimes once again reveal the true nature of the Houthi militias as an unmistakable terrorist group; a group that has no hesitation in targeting civilians and vital facilities in order to create chaos and divert attention from violations of the laws by themselves.”
