🔶Saudi Arabia’s ambassador in Yemen: The Strait of Bab el-Mandeb has been cleared of “leftovers of the Houthis”

Mohammed Al-Jaber, the Saudi Arabia ambassador in Yemen, said on Friday, October 9 (17 Mehr), that the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb has been freed from “the control of the Houthi group.”

Al-Jaber, in a message on the X social network, wrote: “Blessed Friday and victory for every Yemeni and Arab. Bab el-Mandeb has been freed from the remnants of the terrorist Houthi militias.” He did not provide further details about this.

The Houthis initially did not react to the statements by the ambassador.

Yemen has been embroiled in war since 2014, when the Houthis took control of the country’s capital, Sana’a, and several provinces. These developments led to a coalition led by Saudi Arabia in March 2015 to enter the war to support the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
