Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Fuad Hussein, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, spoke by phone with Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, about the attack on Saudi Arabia and the closing of border crossings.

Based on a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, the two sides “discussed measures related to the closure of a number of border crossings, the reasons for adopting them, and ways to resolve the issue.”

Baghdad agreed to Iran’s request for a joint investigation into the discovery of drone launch platforms near the border between the two countries.

The investigation is being carried out within the framework of actions taken to identify the scope of the attacks and the source of the launches.
