🔺Sanctioned oil tanker returns to the Sea of Oman after passing the U.S. blockade line
▪The oil-tanker tracking company Tanker Trackers says the supertanker “Karina,” which has been sanctioned by the United States for smuggling oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, returned again to the Sea of Oman on Saturday evening after crossing the U.S. maritime blockade line against the Islamic Republic.
▪This massive tanker, a member of the “shadow fleet,” with a capacity to carry two million barrels of oil, has carried at least 22 million barrels of Iran’s oil in recent years.
▪Tanker Trackers says that when crossing the U.S. blockade line, the Karina was empty and, despite sailing under the flag of Brazil, there is no record of the Brazilian flag being registered for this ship in the International Maritime Telecommunications Union database.
