Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, who is currently in India to attend a meeting of the BRICS member countries, talked in an interview with the media outlet “India Today” about various topics, including Tehran’s relations with neighboring countries and also the outlook for negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Regarding relations with regional countries that have been affected by tensions and clashes between Iran and the United States, he said that the Islamic Republic “has no problem with the United Arab Emirates or any of the countries in the region.”
Pezeshkian, while referring to Iran’s peaceful coexistence with the countries in the region, identified the problem as the role and presence of the United States and that this country has the ability to attack Iran through the soil of other countries. He said: “In fact, the problem is that friends and neighbors should not allow enemies to attack another country from their territory.”
The Iranian president, about relations with Riyadh, stated: “We are not at war with Saudi Arabia. The Houthis also have their own issues. I have said many times that there is no reason for differences among the countries of the region.”
