Hengaw reported that Hossein Rosoli-Nasab, a detainee of the Iranian National Revolution, was sentenced to death in January 2026.

According to information received by Hengaw, Rosoli-Nasab’s case was formed with charges including “enmity against God through participation in the destruction of public property,” setting fire to religious centers, and “gathering and conspiracy against the country’s security.”

A source informed and close to Rosoli-Nasab’s family told Hengaw that his case is connected to the events of the protests on 18 and 19 January 2026 in Shandiz, during which a mosque and a Dar al-Quran were set on fire.

Rosoli-Nasab, who is married and the father of two children, during the protests in January in Shandiz was arrested along with a number of other citizens, and after some time was transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
