Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, said in a remote speech for a security conference in Ukraine that after Israel’s attack on Hamas leaders in Doha last year, the U.S. used Israel’s “global isolation” to mediate and reach a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages with the group that governs the Gaza Strip.

Kushner also added: “Israel carried out an attack in Doha that was a very bad thing. The attack was unsuccessful from the standpoint of military operations and it caused Israel to become isolated globally, and we used this situation to pressure them and to reach an agreement that, now, today, they are very satisfied with.”
