Yashar Soltani, a media activist, said about the Islamic Republic’s oil-selling network that each oil tanker with a capacity of about one million barrels and an approximate value of 90 million dollars creates about four million dollars in costs for commissions, money transfers, currency conversion, and banking transfers, which, according to him, this network benefits from. Soltani added that if Iran were connected to SWIFT and had normal financial ties with the world, the cost of such a transfer could have been about 500 dollars.
