👈What happens if the internet cables under the sea are cut?

“If all the undersea cables in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz were destroyed, no country would experience a complete internet shutdown. However, severe disruption would occur for Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Iraq because their main cables land in the Persian Gulf and have limited undersea replacements.

The UAE (with the landing at Fujairah airport) and Saudi Arabia (with cables in the Red Sea) would be affected less. Iran also has about 70% of its traffic via land.

The global impact would be negligible (less than 1% of international bandwidth). Ground and satellite capacity cannot fully replace it.
