The United States has imposed new sanctions against Iran and entities associated with it, targeting 16 individuals and 10 entities.
Based on a statement published on Thursday on the website of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, 16 Iranian citizens and 10 entities associated with Iran, including three banks, several exchange houses, and a trading company, have been sanctioned.
The ministry said that these networks have played a role in providing dollars, transferring oil revenues, and evading Iran’s sanctions.
In the new list of sanctions, “Chabahar International Bank (Offshore)”, “International Bank of Kish”, and “International Development Bank for Investment and Financing”, which is also known as “Iraq Development Bank,” are included.
The U.S. Treasury Department said that these measures were carried out as part of the “Economic Expulsion” operation against Iran.
The U.S. Treasury Department has, for nearly two months, each week placed a set of individuals, officials, entities, and Iran’s assets or those associated with it under sanctions.
