🔻Wall Street Journal: After ignoring a cargo ship, the U.S. attacked it after placing it under Iran’s maritime blockade

Previously, the Vanguard Institute had reported that a cargo ship flying a Panamanian flag, while transiting from west to east through the Arabian Sea and near the coasts of Pakistan, was targeted by a missile fired from a helicopter.

Now, the Wall Street Journal, citing a U.S. official, says that an American military helicopter fired shots at the wheel of the cargo ship after the crew did not heed warnings about refraining from violating the maritime blockade of Iranian ports.

The ship’s wheel is a vertical blade located in the lower part of the end of the ship in the water, used to steer it.

The report says it appears that after the ship was targeted, it tried to transfer its crew to another civilian vessel.
