Use of children as a “human shield” in central Gaza;

The Israel Defense Forces, by publishing images, claimed that its forces in the area of the central Gaza Strip refugee camps overnight identified a militia member affiliated with Palestinian groups while using a child to transfer military equipment into a residential home.

According to claims by Israeli military officials, the person used the child as a human shield in order to prevent the army from targeting the cargo.

The Israel Defense Forces called the action an example of the “systematic exploitation of children by terrorist groups and violations of international law,” and emphasized that its forces, under the command of the Southern Area, will continue their operations to neutralize any immediate threat along the “Yellow Line.”
