🔺US State Department: Human trafficking generates substantial profits for the Houthis

▪The US State Department says that human trafficking remains one of the lucrative sources of income for the Houthi rebels’ wartime economy and brings them significant benefits.

▪Based on the State Department’s 2026 report on human trafficking, the Houthis also attract African refugees and use migration routes to generate revenue.

▪The report states that, due to the continued war, the humanitarian crisis, and the government’s limited ability to control events, Yemen has been classified as a “special case” for the eleventh consecutive year.

▪The report also links Yemeni armed forces and government-supported armed groups to involvement in recruiting and using child soldiers.
