🔸Ukrainian officials said on Wednesday that they are imposing restrictions on satellite internet services from Starlink, owned by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX.

🔸Sergiy Beskrestnov, an adviser to the President of Ukraine, said that military Starlink services for mobile equipment with speeds exceeding 160 kilometers per hour will be cut off; a restriction that he said was imposed without prior warning and has disrupted several military operations.

🔸The system plays an important role in guiding Ukraine’s long-range drones to attack Russian positions in occupied areas, as well as targets inside Russian territory. The new restriction could also affect operations involving fast drones, aircraft, and efforts to counter Russian Shahed drones.

🔸A source in Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense told Reuters that Kyiv has contacted the United States, SpaceX, and NATO to clarify the reasons for these restrictions. SpaceX has not, to date, provided an explanation for the reason behind the restrictions.

🔸On Wednesday, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin, said in response to these reports that Moscow does not have official and reliable information about the restriction of Starlink services in Ukraine.
