🔸U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday that the U.S. Army has forced 70 vessels to change course since the start of the new round of Iran’s maritime blockade.
🔸CENTCOM wrote on X that “U.S. military forces, as part of enforcing this blockade, have diverted 70 commercial ships, disabled three ships; and stopped two ships to ensure compliance with inspection and stoppage requirements.”
🔸The maritime blockade against Iranian ports, which was resumed following the latest round of clashes between the United States and Iran, has led, according to officials of the Islamic Republic, to Iran’s oil exports being halted.
🔸This comes as the government of Donald Trump has announced it will launch an unprecedented campaign involving escalating sanctions and unprecedented economic pressure against Tehran.
