U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, announced in a video on Wednesday, 22 Mehr, that American forces destroyed a dhow linked to the Islamic Republic on 14 Mehr that was carrying out reconnaissance and targeting ships of the U.S. Navy in the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM added that the crew left the dhow safely before it was destroyed, and efforts to return them to their country are ongoing. The command also stated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has, over the past seven months, targeted thousands of non-military mariners in the waters of the region in addition to U.S. warships.
