Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Iran–U.S. negotiations:
God willing, the Iran–U.S. negotiations will end today with good news.
To be honest, the issue [Strait of Hormuz/Hormuz] has complexities. Of course, the technical details—and also Oman—has a role it must play regarding the map.
With what mechanism and method, and for how long, will this [passage] remain open? Of course, work is being done on this issue.
What matters is that an agreement is reached on a transitional period. Oil must continue to flow so that global oil prices and energy prices do not rise. And secondly, in such a way that this process creates the conditions for a stable agreement.
So a 60-day period is being discussed. If results are reached within that 60-day period, it will be possible to reach a permanent agreement between the parties.
