Trump used a pre-written text to pay tribute to Graham 🖌Anthony Zorker, BBC North America reporter

In his remarks at the Lindsey Graham ceremony, U.S. President Donald Trump largely used a pre-written text.

In the speech, which lasted about 15 minutes, he delivered a condensed summary of the life and political record of the Republican senator, which was mainly accompanied by anecdotes and jokes, drawing smiles from those in attendance.

He referred to their shared interest in golf, Graham’s commitment to foreign policy, as well as his “engaging personality” and his “spirit and enthusiasm.”

Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham had disagreements with one another, especially at the beginning of Trump’s entry into national politics. But as Donald Trump’s remarks clearly showed, these two men had grown closer in recent years.
