🔸Trump: The Islamic Republic wants negotiations; the United States is not in a rush

Donald Trump, president of the United States, said on Friday, 8 Aban (30 October), at the White House that talks with the Islamic Republic will continue and that Tehran wants the negotiations to continue, but that the United States is not in a hurry to reach an agreement.

Trump said Iran is facing serious financial problems and is even unable to pay the salaries of its soldiers and police forces.

The U.S. president described fighting with Iran as an “unusual war” and said his country’s costs over the past seven months have been relatively limited. Trump said the purpose of the United States’ military spending is to eliminate the Islamic Republic’s ability to acquire nuclear weapons, and stressed that his administration has succeeded in this regard.

In recent days, different messages have been sent from Washington regarding Iran. At the same time as efforts by J.D. Vance, the deputy president of the country, to revive the negotiations, reports have also been published about reviewing new military options against Iran. No final and definitive decision has yet been announced about continuing the “diplomatic path” or “escalating military operations.”
