🔶 Times: Haneh’s former guard received British citizenship before being arrested on charges of designing a terrorist attack

The British newspaper "The Times" reported that one of the former guards of Ismail Haniyeh, the slain leader of Hamas, had received asylum in Britain and then citizenship before he was arrested in November last year while planning to carry out a terrorist attack against Jews in Europe. A source familiar with the matter who asked not to be named told the newspaper that the person had played an "essential" role in designing the terrorist attack.

In this report, the identity of the person and the name of this former Haniyeh guard were not disclosed for legal reasons, but he was introduced as the son of one of Hamas’s senior officials.

In its report on the matter, The Times of Israel cited a statement by the Mossad in November in which it said that the weapons discovered during the operation to thwart the plot to assassinate were owned by Muhammad Na’eem, one of the Hamas operatives. His father is Bassem Na’eem, a senior official in the Hamas political office based in Gaza.
