The U.S. State Department approved the likely sale of $2.7 billion in military equipment and services to Ukraine to enhance the country’s air defense capabilities.

According to this, if the purchase is finalized, Ukraine will pay for the cost from a combination of European assistance and financing credit from the United States, which had been allocated during the Biden administration.

The package includes sample-based S-300 missiles, AGM-67 missiles, laser-guided rocket systems with an increased range, launch platform modification kits, and radar systems for anti-drone systems.

The proposed package must be reviewed by Congress. On Friday morning, Trump signed a sweeping law imposing sanctions on Russia and the Islamic Republic.
