🔻The U.S. says Hezbollah is seeking to “sabotage” negotiations between Lebanon and Israel

A senior U.S. State Department official told Al Jazeera that Hezbollah “is trying to sabotage the process of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel.”

The official, whose name has not been released by Al Jazeera, also said that “both countries are facing domestic political pressures.”

The official warned that “resorting to shortcuts brings the same failed outcomes we have been seeing for decades,” and stressed that Washington remains optimistic about the “current path.”

He also reported that negotiations between Lebanon and Israel will resume in Rome next month.
