The official Houthi cleric in southern Yemen defended the attack on the cities of Mecca and Medina. According to Al-Masirah Network, the Houthi organization, Alawi bin Sahl said: “This group targets the two sanctuaries of Mecca and Medina in order to turn them into a free minaret for Muslims.”
