The New York Times, citing the maritime intelligence analysis company Lloyd’s, wrote that the South Korean shipping company Sinokor has accounted for about half of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of September.
According to this report, Sinokor began large-scale purchases of oil tankers two months before the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on 9 Esfand 1404.
The company now has 129 giant crude-oil tankers, each capable of carrying two million barrels of oil, compared with 42 vessels in December.
