The Iraqi federal government, by direct order from its prime minister, Ali al-Zaydi, has temporarily shut down the border crossing of Chazabeh in the east of Maysan Province.

At the same time, the Altra Iraq network reported that Iraqi officials are currently considering closing other border crossings with Iran in order to combat dollar smuggling.
