U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday, 29 Mehr, that the United States does not support any agreement that would leave the way open for Tehran to acquire a nuclear weapon.
He said: “As long as Donald Trump is the president of the United States, the Iranian government will never obtain a nuclear weapon.”
Rubio also added that the United States welcomes efforts to mediate with Tehran, but the final decision on whether to accept any proposal rests with the U.S. president.
He said: “A number of countries have been talking with Tehran for some time and have put forward proposals, and Qatar has been active in this regard for a long time.”
