Ted Cruz, the Republican U.S. senator, said in an interview with Fox News that the killing of Hamas members, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps by Israel, in his view, will increase U.S. security. Cruz said: “Every Hamas terrorist that Israel removes, every Hezbollah terrorist that Israel removes, and every Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps terrorist that Israel removes makes America safer.” He added that these groups are seeking to kill Americans and have previously killed Americans. Cruz also said that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, as commander in chief, considers safeguarding the country’s security and protecting the lives of American service members and citizens his most important responsibility. This American senator, referring to the slogan “Death to America,” said: “When the Ayatollah chants ‘Death to America,’ he means it literally.” Cruz also, referring to developments in the United Kingdom, said that if the leader of the Islamic Republic had issued instructions to attempt to kill American service members in that country, this would show the Islamic Republic’s threat against Americans. He then accused Europe of not doing enough to defend itself against this threat.
