Technical progress cannot be stopped but it is important to understand its consequences, President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the 23rd meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.

"Instances have already been registered when artificial intelligence decides itself, reasoning from its understanding of feasibility. This pertains to both civilian and military applications," Putin said.
