❗Key takeaways from Putin’s statements at the plenary session of the 23rd meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club:

▪The truth about Ukraine is that it has started a war against Russia

▪Russia remembers that opponents seek its strategic defeat

▪Ukraine made a mistake by turning Russophobia and the killing of Russians into a state ideology

▪Former global hegemons should acknowledge the realities of a multipolar world

▪The international situation will eventually reach a balance, but it will not happen quickly

▪Some actors deliberately put Russia in a position where it has to defend itself and respond to aggression with arms

▪All sorts of taboos are now being broken in global politics
