Spain’s Interior Ministry said it is estimated that by Friday more than 25,000 migrants will have “voluntarily” returned from their autonomous region of Ceuta, under Spanish rule in North Africa, to Morocco.

Spain’s Interior Ministry announced that it is estimated that by Friday more than 25,000 migrants will have “voluntarily” returned from their autonomous region of Ceuta, under Spanish rule in North Africa, to Morocco.

This comes as, since Thursday morning, around 60,000 migrants had entered Ceuta; a small region on the north coast of Africa that is one of the European Union’s land borders with the African continent.

Spanish officials have said the process of the migrants’ voluntary return continues, but so far they have not released any further details about the situation of other people who entered Ceuta.
