🔻Carlos Queiroz, former president of the United States Soccer Federation and senior adviser to Infantino, announced his immediate resignation and stepped down from further cooperation with FIFA. The decision was made as opposition to FIFA’s controversial plan to establish the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) company and transfer 20% of its shares to private investors is growing day by day.

🔹In his resignation statement, Queiroz said: «I cannot continue my cooperation while FIFA is considering the transfer of part of the ownership of the World Cup.» He also emphasized: «Let me be clear; I have had no role in drafting this proposal and I firmly oppose it.» Queiroz then described the proposed $20 billion commercial company by FIFA as «a bad deal for football.»

🔹Queiroz, who worked at the investment bank Goldman Sachs before entering football, has, in recent years, accompanied Infantino in meetings at the White House on multiple occasions.

🔹Queiroz’s resignation is considered the latest blow to Infantino. In recent days, the FIFA president has faced explicit opposition from UEFA, CONCACAF, and the Asian Football Confederation. Critics believe the plan puts the governance structure of world football at risk and will pave the way for private investors to enter the most important football competition in the world.

🔹According to reports, the plan has even led to speculation about the possibility of boycotting some competitions under FIFA’s supervision, and has created one of the most serious management crises in recent years for the organization.
