Sky News reported that the UK’s counter-terrorism police are investigating the possibility of a link between the Islamic Republic and a bombing plot at the Royal Air Force base at RAF Fairford, where U.S. bombers are based.

According to the report, the origin of the foiled operation is not yet known.

Meanwhile, Ben Wallace, the UK defense minister, said that during the day he had been in contact with Pete Hegseth, the U.S. defense secretary, regarding the Fairford base incident, and that London is working closely with Washington on the matter.

In response to Donald Trump’s remarks about the detainees, he said that due to the continued operation and security considerations, he will not comment on its details.
