Shipping fuel from South Korea to Russia amid the war has sparked Ukraine’s protests. More than 176,000 tons of petroleum products have been transferred to Russia over two months using seven oil tankers, including three sanctioned tankers.

Kyiv says these shipments have reduced the fuel shortage caused by Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries, and that this trade contradicts Seoul’s sanctions policy. South Korea, without explaining the shipments, has emphasized the enforcement of export limits.
