Shayan Samiee, a national security expert, said that Thursday morning’s CENTCOM attacks on the positions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran are the start of a phase in which the United States is seeking to eliminate the IRGC’s and the Islamic Republic’s armed forces’ offensive capacity so as to put the Iranian government in front of two options: accepting the United States’ conditions or surrender.
