Scott Bessent, U.S. Treasury Secretary, said on Thursday, the ninth of Mehr, that Iran did not load any crude oil onto tankers in the month of September, and he attributed this to the impact of the Trump administration’s pressure campaign to cut off one of the Islamic Republic’s main sources of revenue.

On the social media platform X, Bessent wrote: “Iran did not load any crude oil onto tankers in the month of September.” He added: “The Trump administration is cutting the most vital source of income of the Iranian government.”

Bessent also said that “economic displacement operations” are cutting off the economic routes which, according to Washington, the Islamic Republic uses to finance armed groups and other activities.

The U.S. Treasury Department launched these operations in August and announced that their goal is the Islamic Republic’s oil revenues, networks for evading sanctions, and other financial channels of Iran.
