Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said in an interview with “Fox News” on Wednesday that most of Iran’s foreign flights have been halted and expressed doubt about how the representatives of the Islamic Republic present at the United Nations General Assembly will return to Iran.

Bessent said: “Iran’s foreign flights are likely more than 80 or 90 percent stopped. I don’t know how Iran’s representatives at the UN are going to get back home.”

He said this situation is part of the U.S. campaign of “economic pushback” against the Islamic Republic and added: “We have pressured the Iranian government in a way that they have never seen before.”
