Donald Trump, the president of the United States, on the eve of his meeting with Xi Jinping, the president of China, said that the issue of Iran will be one of the topics of his conversation with the Chinese leader.

In response to a question from reporters about negotiations related to Iran, Trump said: “We will see. I will discuss this issue and many other matters, but the situation in this regard is also progressing well.”

After arriving in Washington, Xi, in a written message, said that China and the United States should be partners instead of rivals. He expressed hope that, through the joint efforts of both sides, his trip to the United States will be fruitful.

The meeting between Trump and Xi is being held at a time when the issue of the Islamic Republic has, in recent days, become one of the focal points ahead of negotiations between the two countries, and a number of American lawmakers have also asked Trump to raise China’s support for Tehran in this meeting.
