Jane Shaheen, the senior Democratic member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, asked U.S. President Donald Trump to use the new Russia and Iran sanctions law to counter China’s support for the Islamic Republic.

Shaheen said in a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday that Chinese entities have supported the Islamic Republic during the war, and that these aid have played a role in attacks on U.S. forces and facilities.

She urged the Trump administration to increase pressure on Beijing to completely stop this support by using the “Lindsey Graham law for sanctions on Russia and Iran.”

Shaheen also referred to reports about the provision of satellite images, technology, and field intelligence by Chinese entities to the Islamic Republic.
