🔸Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its air defense systems tracked and destroyed drones that had been launched from Iraq toward oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, as well as toward the city of Riyadh.

🔸The ministry said the drones had taken off by Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq.

🔸The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the attack and, once again, emphasized the country’s right to respond to the source of the “aggression” and to deter those behind it.

🔸The ministry also urged the Iraqi government to take all necessary measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launchpad for attacks against Saudi Arabia.

🔸The incident comes as the United States and Iran have stopped their reciprocal attacks since the beginning of this week.
