🔶 Rubio says talks are underway about a possible US-Russia-China summit
Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, confirmed that discussions are taking place about holding a possible trilateral summit between the United States, Russia, and China with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine.
Rubio said on Monday, October 19 (27 Mehr), in remarks to reporters in Uzbekistan: “There have been discussions about holding such a summit. I don’t know whether a final decision has been made or not, but the president has clearly said that he wants the war between Russia and Ukraine to end.”
Rubio’s remarks came after the Wall Street Journal reported that Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has suggested holding a summit with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Xi Jinping, the President of China, to discuss the future of Ukraine.
According to the report, Putin wants Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, not to attend the summit.
The U.S. Secretary of State also denied the claim that Washington has temporarily halted the exchange of military information with Kyiv.
