▪A senior official of the Islamic Republic told Reuters that the Islamic Republic and the United States are far from an agreement to end the war, and that “extreme demands” from the United States will not be accepted.

▪According to Reuters, the remarks were made amid peak diplomatic efforts with Qatar’s key mediation, an attempt to prevent a return to active fighting after the U.S. midterm elections, which are being held today.

▪JD Vance told CNN on Monday that he and Mr. Trump “feel very good” about the prospect of reaching a negotiated solution.

▪Mr. Trump also, an hour before the defensive attack on Qeshm Island, reminded that the Islamic Republic wants a rapid agreement and that such an agreement “can happen.”
