Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy announced that oil transport through the Atyrau–Samara pipeline has resumed after a drone attack on Monday that disabled operations.

According to the same statement, oil transport along this pipeline was temporarily halted on Monday night because the Samara oil production and shipping center in Russia was targeted. The pipeline is one of the key routes for transporting Kazakhstan’s crude oil from Russian territory to global markets.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy added that pumping resumed after a technical inspection and that the pipeline is operating normally.

Reuters reported that Ukraine and Russia regularly target each other’s energy facilities.

On Tuesday, an oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia, was also damaged in an attack by an Ukrainian drone, and two employees were injured.
