🔺Reuters: More aggressive strategy by the Islamic Republic in attacks on ships in the hope of influencing U.S. elections
▪ Two senior officials of the Islamic Republic told Reuters that Tehran has used new strategies to target ships in order to keep the price of oil high and to affect the outcome of the U.S. midterm elections.
▪ Under this newly adopted aggressive strategy, which began about 10 days ago, attacks on ships that the Islamic Republic considers to be violating its restrictions have increased. The decision has been made at the highest level of the leadership of the Islamic Republic and is coordinated across the entire governance system.
▪ A U.S. military official also noted that after the destruction of a large part of its radar capability, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps uses unarmed lookouts on small boats to identify targets, including U.S. warships.
