🔻Reuters: Iran has given tens of millions of dollars to strengthen Hezbollah’s military capabilities
Reuters, citing an informed source and a person close to Hezbollah, says that the group has received tens of millions of dollars from Iran to bolster its military capabilities.
According to Reuters, the amount is in addition to the $200 million Hezbollah has received from Iran for aid to families displaced in areas populated by Shiites under its influence.
The Israeli army and Iran’s representative to the United Nations declined to comment on the matter.
In response to questions from Reuters, Hezbollah’s media office said that Israel’s occupation of Lebanese territory turns any resistance against it into a legitimate right.
A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department said that Washington will continue to exert intense pressure on Hezbollah’s financial resources through sanctions and other measures.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Treasury Department also emphasized that Iran is facing a shortage of financial resources and limitations in the ways it can transfer money.
