Reuters, citing a U.S. State Department official, reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed with Joseph Aoun, the President of Lebanon, the seizure of hundreds of kilograms of explosives belonging to Hezbollah.

The official said that during the call, Rubio asked Michel Aoun for the Lebanese government to hold accountable the people who issued the orders to send this shipment, financed the costs, or directed its transfer.

According to the U.S. State Department official, Rubio also emphasized that these explosives should not, under any circumstances, be returned to the Hezbollah group.
